The Special Court of Appeal has upheld the decision of the First Instance for the persons under investigation in connection with the explosion in the business of Socialist MP Bujar Çela, where as a result two employees (father and son) lost their lives and at least 7 were injured. others, including the deputy himself.
The lawyers had requested the removal of the measure of suspension for the inspectors of IMT Lushnje. Meanwhile, on the other hand, SPAK is continuing the investigations where it has ordered the performance of a series of actions, including a new report-expertise on the causes of the explosion, while it is waiting for the conclusions to be drawn.
The deputy himself has not been prosecuted so far, although violations were found, starting from "Destruction of property by negligence", "Illegal construction" and "Breach of rules at work".
The explosion killed Roland and Elidon Hoxha, father and son, who had their first day of work and were not registered as employees in the relevant authorities, while 7 others were injured.
After the transfer of competence to SPAK of the investigative file, the Special Prosecutor's Office asked the GJKKO to re-evaluate the measures that the Court of Fier had set. Most of the people who have been charged are without security measures, except for suspension from office, while the only one who was arrested was Leonard Gjini, whose company had taken over the works.
Even the latter stayed in the cell for only 2 days, being released without any measures, as the GJKKO said that there is a lack of reasonable suspicion based on evidence for committing the criminal offense "Violation of the rules of protection at work".
