The Supreme Court dismissed the request to remove the sequestration of the Tirana incinerator. At the request of SPAK, the Special Court recently placed the incinerator under seizure, declaring it a crime zone. Likewise, SPAK a few weeks ago carried out an action accusing several people.
The company that has the concession of the Tirana incinerator appealed to the Supreme Court after the final decision of the Appeal, but the Supreme Court upheld the decision.
The Tirana incinerator was seized by the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime in July of last year.
According to SPAK, during the investigations it was found that citizens Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri are the "de facto" owners of the company "Integrated Energy BV SPV" sh.pk, which won the concession contract "Construction of landfill, incinerator and rehabilitation of existing storage sites, Tirana". and are the "de facto" owners of its parent company, established in the Netherlands, "Integrated Energy BV", later changed to "Geogenix BV".
After this decision, the company was transferred to the administration of the Agency for the Administration of Seized and Confiscated Assets, in the Ministry of the Interior and the State Administrator, Arjan Baçi, was appointed.
This is not the first attempt that the shareholders of the Integrated Energy company have requested the removal of the sequestration, as they have previously made a request to the Court of Appeal, however, the latter upheld the sequestration and the state administration of the company, considering the decision of the scale seen as fair and based on evidence.
