The black squads have replaced the measure of "house arrest" for doctor Edmond Gashi.
He has been released on a 20 million Lek bail, and his passport has been blocked to prevent him from leaving the country.
Scandal in Oncology:
The SPAK investigation has been registered for "corruption", "abuse of duty" and "medicinal smuggling".
According to the investigations, the suspects had set up an abusive scheme to delay the treatment of cancer patients at the Oncology Hospital, with the aim of sending them to a private clinic.
On July 24, Gashi, who was under the security measure of house arrest, as he is accused of leading cancer patients from the public to the private, by force, requested that the security measure against him be eased.
This, during a session in the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime, where he and several other Oncology doctors are being examined for the criminal offense of abuse of office.
Under investigation are doctor Edmond Gashi, his colleague Alketa Pere, pharmacist Florian Marku, deputy director of QSUT Brikena Qirjazi, coordinator of the Oncology Hospital Emiljano Lela, Halil Gashi, administrator of the oncologist's son's clinic, and Drilona Kishta, former specialist of QSUT.
