The Court of Vlora has recognized the mandate of Fredi Beleri in the Municipality of Himara, won by the local elections that took place on May 14.
"The Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Vorë decided to validate the mandate of the mayor of Himara Municipality, Vlorë District, Mr. Dhionisios (Alfred) Petro Beleri, proposed by the coalition "Bashke Fitomje" for the elections for the developed local self-government bodies on May 14, 2023", says the decision signed by judge Herila Cela.
We remind you that Beleri is under arrest for buying and selling votes. He was arrested on May 12, 2 days before the elections, on suspicion of passive corruption in the election carried out in cooperation.
Beleri requested the release in the Supreme Court. His lawyers have filed a request to overturn the decision of the Court of Special Appeals that left him under arrest in prison. It has not yet been determined when the request will be considered.
Meanwhile, on the 16th, the appeal of GJKKO is expected to examine the request for invalidity of the interceptions.
