SPAK requests dismissal of the case against Jonaid Myzyri, GJKKO decides on May
Jonaid Myzyri

The hearing against the former head of the Public Procurement Commission, Jonaid Myzyri, was held this Wednesday at the Special Court, for whom SPAK requested the dismissal of the case regarding the accusation of violating equality in tenders.

Prosecutor Elvin Gokaj stated that the investigations have been completed and that no evidence implicating Myzyri or the other persons under investigation in the commission of a criminal offense resulted from the actions taken. The request for dismissal also includes Vilma Zhupaj, Lindita Skeja, Merita Zeqaj and Enkelejda Bega.

The defense argued that the members of the PPC do not participate in tender procedures, but only review administrative complaints related to them. After hearing the parties, Judge Paulin Çera announced that the decision will be announced on May 25 at 10:30.

The case relates to a 2020 tender worth around 2.2 million euros for the maintenance of several road segments, including the Rrëshen-Ura e Fanit-Shpal axis and the Shpal-Qafë Bene-Hadroj and Shpal-Ura e Repsit segments. The procedure was conducted by the ARRSH on September 18, 2020.

According to SPAK, during this process, legal violations were found that, according to the indictment, were not taken into account by the KPP headed at the time by Myzyri. The prosecution alleged that the commission had favored the merger of the operators “AEK MUNELLA” and “DRINI-1”, which won the tender with invalid documentation.

In October 2025, the GJKKO decided to lift Myzyri's suspension from office, leaving only the "compulsion to appear" measure in force.
