Speaking about the incinerator affair and the arrest of two Tirana Municipality officials, Neritan Sejamini highlighted the two standards used by justice.
In an interview for the show "The Unexposed", he stated that in the case of Arben Ahmetaj, who is only accused of wealth, they went so deep into the investigation that even the cleaners were questioned. Meanwhile, in the case of the Tirana incinerator, Erion Veliajn is not even mentioned at all.
"We have a group that stole from the incinerators in Elbasan and Fier. If the same thing happened in Tirana, what are the chances that Veliaj didn't know about it? Zero. With the trivial actions that they have done, proven, what are the chances that this criminal group, in the Municipality of Tirana, have implemented the law and there is only one engineer there...
Imagine, we are talking about 600 million euros, and the mayor and the prime minister are indifferent to this business? Mr. Ahmetaj is only accused of the wealth, they asked the cleaner, the architect, the village guard, every possible person. But here... I'm saying why aren't the same investigations done here?
In a trial, justice has evidence and judgment and reaches a conclusion. There are times when mistakes are made. The only thing to have faith in justice is the procedure. There are also people convicted in the USA of murder and then DNA analysis and they are found to be innocent. So justice depends on the standard and procedure. For example, Ilir Meta is being investigated for a company that collected CEZ debts, while three other companies have done the same and are not being investigated. If today, with SPAK, we find that he is using politics, I know how this story ends, with the justice we had before. SPAK is also a power and must be held accountable.
Erion Veliaj is a very very very powerful man. The main business today in Albania is drug money laundering, most of which is done with construction. Billions of euros worth of constructions have been built. All with Mr. Veliaj's signature. Some have come alienating the lake park, the guard will also start, etc. All these decisions have also had Mr. Veliaj as a link. I agree that it is Rama, but Veliaj also has extraordinary power. With this kind of power, even a director of the municipality is powerful. If Veliaj is overthrown, the power of Edi Rama will be irreparably damaged, Sejamini said.
