The Legal Adviser and for Electoral Affairs, Ivi Kaso, has shown what will happen to the mandate of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha's deputy if he does not continue to appear in the Parliament hall.
Kaso said that SPAK's rejection of Berisha's request to participate in the Assembly is unreasonable as he is seeking to exercise his duty as elected by the people and to represent the latter.
He explained that non-appearance of the MP without reason for 6 months in the sessions of the Assembly can result in the removal of the mandate of the MP.
"The refusal by SPAK to allow Berisha to attend parliamentary sessions seems unreasonable to me. He seeks to exercise his office as elected by the sovereign with the mandate to represent them in the Assembly. Even in their answer, they did not have any justification except for the analogy they made with Berisha's procedural position with the people who are under arrest in prison.
The measure itself against Berisha is an exception to the rule, as there is no criminal charge and there is a measure against him. Failure to appear without reason for 6 months in the sessions of the Assembly leads to the removal of the mandate of the deputy", said Kaso for "Open".
