Sajmir Boshnjaku, director of the Border Police, has resigned from his post. Reports indicate that Boshnjaku submitted his resignation to the Minister of Interior and the Director General of the State Police.
Bosnjaku is the second senior official in the ranks of the State Police to resign in recent weeks. The first to resign from his position was Florjan Sulejmani, who held the position of director of the AMP.
Bosnjaku was appointed to this position by Gledis Nano, during the period he headed the State Police, until his dismissal.
The reasons for the resignations of senior police officials are still unknown, whether or not they are related to the Prime Minister's constant ultimatums, who, after the results of the May 11 elections, seems to be aiming to place new names in key positions, not only in the local administration, but also in the central one.
