On March 15, the 17th anniversary of the tragic explosion and state crime of that time was commemorated, where 26 innocent citizens, factory workers and residents, were killed in the dismantling factory in Gërdec, while hundreds were also injured.
Lawyer Spartak Ngjela said today on 'Studio Live' that it was one of the most serious crimes to occur in 30 years and a business run by Berisha and his family.
Ngjela recalled that after March 15, 2008, Berisha appeared in public as a corpse and dead, as he expressed his belief that justice would be done and that SPAK had received new evidence.
" Gërdec was not involved in SPAK from the beginning, because it had not been formed. Now let's see what happened in the legal aspect within SPAK. I say that it will take it, it is not very easy, but it is an organization that has international expertise. It is waiting for a new international expertise and evidence is evidence. It is one of the most serious crimes of the last 30 years. It would be a liberation for the Albanian conscience, for there to be justice and punishment. These people had gone with an ignorance of expenses in that case and this brought about the explosion ", said Ngjela.
Asked about the dynamics of the event after many years had passed and what he remembered from the event, Ngjela emphasized that it was a business run by Berisha, who almost died after the explosion and turned into a corpse, until he managed to dissolve the case through the justice system, which has now been reopened at SPAK.
" That business was run by the Berisha family, it is known. You don't remember, but Saliu wanted to die, he came out as a corpse when he came out. But now that SPAK has taken over, according to my information, new evidence has also come, that until now they have not had faith in the judicial power, and now they have more and more evidence. It doesn't matter how much they will be punished, but let's see if the truth will come out on the scene and if that crime will be punished? I say yes ", said Ngjela.
