The Special Prosecutor's Office has admitted that it has failed to arrest organized crime bosses in the country. The head of this prosecution, Altin Dumani, reported a few days ago to the Assembly and stated that many criminals have fled to Dubai, being untouchable. But when it comes to responsibilities, SPAK takes the ball away from itself.
Dumani spoke to the media today and stated that the right of extradition belongs to the Ministry of Justice and not SPAK, passing the ball to Ulsi Manja.
" The Special Prosecutor's Office has transmitted to the Ministry of Justice four requests for the extradition of Albanian citizens from the United Arab Emirates, which are still in the process of consideration by the Arab authorities. Extradition from the United Arab Emirates is not only a problem for Albania, but also for all other countries of the European Union and beyond. I have addressed this problem in the report, it is up to the other authorities to follow it up ," said Dumani on "Tv Klan".
But what is noticeable is that SPAK is proceeding in the same way as it belongs in the fight against corruption, as well as in the fight against criminal gangs. In the case of corruption, officials of not very high levels are being hit. Ministers, deputies and former prime ministers are still untouchable. Likewise, when it comes to crime, there are only secondary characters in the cell. The most wanted people of the moment have fled the country, most to Dubai.
Eldi Dizdari is exactly one of the most talked about crime names in Albania, who is hiding in Dubai. Dizdari was arrested in 2020 in Dubai, where he was hiding after escaping from Albania. His arrest came after an action taken by Europol in 9 European countries. But he is not being extradited. Plarent Dervishaj is another Albanian character of the underworld, hiding in this paradise. These names are known, but there are dozens more who live there and the authorities do not know.
