The plenary session was accompanied by strong tensions and clashes. The Democrats attempted to block the floor in two interpellations, while the majority seemed fragile, dropping to 67 votes. In parallel, the Albanian Parliament adopted a unified statement against the accusations against the former KLA leaders, describing them as a dangerous distortion of history, while in The Hague they are demanding up to 180 years in prison in total.
Outside the Parliament, residents of “Velipoja” and “Durrës” protested over property issues, with Agron Shehaj joining in their support. Prime Minister Rama continued his attacks on the justice system, citing 92 decisions that, according to him, have cost the state 12 million euros. On the other hand, the Constitutional Court postponed the decision on increasing the salaries of judges and prosecutors due to lack of a majority.
SPAK intensifies its actions: its head met with the President of Eurojust, while the Special Prosecution Office warned of strong investigations into tenders over 800 thousand lek and bribes over 50 thousand. A bank was robbed in Tirana, but the perpetrator was immediately arrested; he stated that he committed the act because of debts. Meanwhile, Sergei Hasanpapaj is extradited from Belgium for the murder of Bledar Muça.
In Kosovo, Albin Kurti's third term officially begins, with a focus on the situation in The Hague and political dialogue. In the international arena, Zelensky accepted the American proposal for new talks with Russia. In the US, Republicans joined Democrats in suspending tariffs on Canada, defying Trump.
In sports, the draw for the 2026/27 Nations League is being made, marking the start of the road towards "EURO 2028", with important innovations in the format.
