Lawyer Jordan Daci has spoken about the creation of a sovereign Bektashi state within Albania. He stated that this cannot be done since the existence of the state cannot be changed by the Constitution and cannot even be put to a referendum.
"Article 1 is part of the preamble, which means it is our centuries-old effort to create an independent state, it is also expressed for national unity. Article 1 is not an article that let's make a constitutional state, because if you change this article, you throw this constitution in the trash.
The other problem is that even in the referendum, this cannot be brought up, since you thereby call into question the existence of the one you are calling in the referendum. Referendums have several prohibited points to be carried out. Like the referendum for the denunciation of the international treaty, it is not allowed, because it does not matter that the relations we have with certain countries can change according to certain appetites", said Daci to "Euronews Albania".
