Journalist Artan Hoxha has commented on the dismissal of Erion Veliaj from the Tirana Municipal Council. Hoxha described the decision as unfair and emphasized that there is no final sentence for Veliaj.
According to him, the process took place in Veliaj's absence and under the influence of Prime Minister Rama. He added that most of the members of the Council were chosen by Veliaj himself.
"I have tried Erion Veliaj on the back for what he did to us. But Veliaj did not deserve what happened to him today. Veliaj should have been there for sure. They put him through a process, without him being present. Most of those who were there in the Council from the socialists were chosen by Erion Veliaj himself. There was a public perception that this happened because Prime Minister Edi Rama requested it.
"The Prime Minister decided Veliaj's fate. Even for Agim Kajmaku, the Constitutional Court ruled in his favor and he received 44 months' salary, and his family received money for damage to his image. Veliaj was not sentenced with a final decision and therefore the decision today was unjust ," the journalist told "News 24".
