The police and the prosecution will verify the messages and statements made by the former deputy director of the Albanian Anti-Corruption Agency, Daniel Shima, after his disappearance from his apartment.
During police questioning, Shima is reported to have said that he had left voluntarily and that the message that he would be arrested was not true. Shima's phone was also seized.
10 hours after being reported missing by his family, the former Deputy Director General of the National Agency for the Information Society (AKSHI), Daniel Shima, has returned home.
In his testimony after returning to his apartment, Shima explained that he had fled to the south of the country after a conflict with his partner. However, he did not provide further explanations regarding the message he had sent to his family, claiming that he was being arrested by the police.
Even the police, in an official response, said that Shima presented himself at police station no. 1, and testified that he left of his own free will.
Shima was reported missing on Wednesday afternoon by his mother, who went to police station no. 1 with suspicions that he might have been arrested, as in a communication she had had with a relative, he had said that he was being arrested. From the verifications carried out, it resulted that there was no arrest issued against him.
