Activist Luçiana Kokaj stated from the protest podium in front of the Prime Minister's Office that she had been called to the Police Station to provide clarification regarding the march held the night before towards Rinas Airport.
In her speech to the protesters, Kokaj explained that she is part of the group that took the initiative to start the protests, but emphasized that their real organizers are the citizens themselves who participate in the rallies every day.
"I'm coming from the Police Station where I was to make a statement about yesterday's march. As I explained, I am part of the group that took the initiative for the protest on the first day, but not the organizers, you are the organizers."
"Yesterday's march was spontaneous, it was not organized. We respect the police, we will protest for them too. We will respect the law every day," she declared.
The activist stressed that protest participants will continue to exercise their right to assemble, while respecting institutions and the law. Her statement came a day after hundreds of protesters marched for several hours from the center of Tirana towards the Rinas area, in one of the longest movements of this series of protests.
Kokaj's speech was met with applause from the protesters, while the rally continued with other messages against the government and calls for the continuation of the protests.
