Journalist Adriatik Doçi has commented on an investigation, through which documents and procedures were published for the first time implicating Sali Berisha, then prime minister committed to signing construction permits in favor of the company that built the luxury tourist village in Lalzi Bay. The investigation also published the facts of how Argita transformed a 50m2 house into the imperial villa 'D5'.
Invited to the show 'Repolitix' with journalist Denis Minga, Doçi says that it seems clear that we are dealing with money laundering by the Berisha family. Doçi says that we are dealing with two criminal offenses, corruption and money laundering.
" Suspicion of two criminal offenses, corruption and money laundering, the data speak of fraud with assets. I saw a statement of Argita Berisha from 2006, where he declares that in 2003 he bought half a villa worth 56 thousand euros, then in 2013 he bought an apartment, it is not clear if it is part of this villa or another construction structure that declares 22 thousand euros and an additional 40 thousand euros. In 2013, actions are taken quickly that Berisha is losing power. The expenses amount to 130 thousand euros. It seems that it is an investment worth millions of euros. The question that I want to raise can only be answered by SPAK, if it has benefited from this villa by using the power of Berisha, giving in exchange permission for the development of the area, or if money has been invested in this villa, it is clear that money has been laundered. We are dealing with the criminal offense of money laundering. It is no coincidence that SPAK seized a part of the villa. The villas there go for over 1 million euros, it being a special villa, I believe it can have a value of 2-3 million euros, it remains for SPAK experts to evaluate it , he said.
Doçi says that Berisha entered politics with a 69 square meter apartment and today is the richest family in the Balkans.
" He entered politics with an apartment with an area of 69 square meters, in 2003, this statement. He gave some savings and 20 thousand euros to his daughter. Today, the Berisha family is among the richest families in the Balkans, with tens of millions of euros in assets. We have factories, palaces, villas, land, incredible wealth and who is the basis of this wealth, because no one has worked. Apart from Berisha who had the salary as a high official, these others, Liria, Jamarbër, Argita and Shkëlzeni, have done some work, real estate agents of the power ", said Doçi.
