Murder of Klodian Rasha, the Supreme Court rejects the appeal of former officer

The Supreme Court has rejected the appeal of former "Eagles" police officer Nevaldo Hajdaraj, who was convicted of the murder of young Klodian Rasha in 2020.

This means that the decision of the Court of Appeal and the sentence of 18 years in prison for intentional murder remain in effect, but reduced to 12 years in prison due to the summary trial.

The appeal, which was also dismissed, was also filed by the Prosecution, which requested the former officer be sentenced to 20 years in prison, the maximum sentence provided for in Article 76 of the Criminal Code, and the rejection of the summary trial for Hajdaraj.

Nevaldo Hajdaraj killed Klodian Rasha in the morning hours of December 8, 2020, while shooting him from a distance of 5 meters.

The main footage seized by the Tirana prosecution clearly showed the action of the former police officer, who appeared to be positioned to shoot with his service weapon at the person he was pursuing.

According to the investigation team, the victim appears to have run away in the footage. Meanwhile, from a very close distance of 5 meters, the former police officer, positioned lying on the sidewalk, opened fire twice towards him.
