A serious incident was recorded the other day in Kruja, where a 42-year-old woman allegedly killed her baby after giving birth in the apartment. She put the baby in a garbage bag and threw it into the Tapiza river while the incident was discovered after the woman went to get medical help at the hospital.
The 42-year-old refused to speak to the police about the reasons that led her to undertake this macabre act.
It is learned that no one knew about her pregnancy, even her husband testified to the police that he did not know that his wife was pregnant. But the police have taken his testimony with doubts and verifications are being made for him.
The 42-year-old is currently under arrest in a hospital in Tirana. The mother of 3 girls and two boys, the eldest of whom is 20 years old, has testified the first moments for the officers that she claimed that the baby was stillborn.
Leta K. is married and the mother of 5 other children, 3 girls and two boys, aged 20 and under. The child was born at home and no one knew that she was pregnant, not even her husband, at least he stated this to the investigators.
Immediately after giving birth, he took the child, wrapped it in a plastic bag and threw it away. After the woman went to the hospital in a bad state of health, it was discovered that she was pregnant. Initially, he claimed before the investigators that the baby was born dead and therefore he threw it in the river, but that he did not remember the fixed place where he threw it, but a few hours later he confessed.
