The former secretary for Legal Affairs in DP, Indrit Sefa, has finally retired from politics, after the Court gave the former prime minister the seal of DP, which was previously owned by Lulzim Basha.
Sefa, who was invited to Euronews Albania, said that his withdrawal comes because he cannot join the people who represent the DP today, as he previously held strong political positions towards them.
He also added that the political struggle in Albania, especially within the right, is quite fierce, which, according to him, makes even the young generation stay away from politics.
"My choice is that this as a political act is the last political act that I have undertaken. I will see my commitments in the professional field and dedicate myself more. I have the final decision. I have also communicated to the structures before. I didn't make it public before, since we made a decision in those structures we were part of that would be appealed to the Supreme Court.
After we closed the recourse, I decided to retire. I find it difficult to be part of a group of people who currently represent DP, for whom I have held public and political positions. Morality is a necessary and very important element in politics. I couldn't handle this. I couldn't do this cross the rainbow since at first I cursed and then said for the good of the party we will unite.
I will not say that my experience will serve all other young people. We tried to return PD to the tracks on which it was built and founded, so that it is a true PD, so that the individual is at its center. For the fault of the leadership, for our fault, for the fault of the situation, etc. Our generation's disdain for politics is murderous. Young people do not want to become part of politics, to avoid this fierce political war", said Sefa.
