Journalist Klodiana Lala has commented on the opinion of the Venice Commission regarding the compatibility of the mandate of SP MP Olta Xhaçka.
Lala said that the majority has committed a constitutional coup, with the way it has handled this issue. The journalist emphasized that Xhaçka, morally and politically, has fallen.
"We all knew that the majority was carrying out a constitutional coup and this was the biggest problem that happened in Albania where a majority did not respect the decision of the Constitutional Court. I did not expect any other reaction from Venice.
Xhačka has fallen morally and politically. After the opinion of Venice, he can no longer be a deputy. The majority's attempt to keep an issue that is no longer simple adds to the agony", she said to "News24".
According to Lala, there are three reasons why the socialist majority has not implemented the decision of the Constitutional Court.
"The socialist majority does not implement it because it is gaining time to close the corrupt story of the strategic investment, which is terrible, and secondly, they want to dilute the investigation that SPAK has on this issue, and thirdly, they have given Xhačka time to close this chapter of his own because with these problems he has, I don't see him on the list of deputies for the 2025 elections", Xhaçka said.
Among other things, she commented on the position of the SP deputy Klotilda Bushka regarding the opinion, saying that it was to put her hands on her head.
"I don't understand Ms. Bushka, who is a very good lawyer, one of the best that parliament has, to make that reaction that she is ashamed to read is to put her hands on her head.
When she goes to parliament, she should have the courage to stand up and say; This matter must be examined and we must make a decision for or against implementing this decision," said Lala.
