Bujar Spahiu has been threatened with his life to resign from the leadership of the Muslim Community of Albania. Diplomatic sources, but also from KMSH, confirmed that in at least two cases the president of KMSH was physically threatened by people who presented themselves as believers. Thus, some time ago, a person with a criminal background and armed entered Bujar Spahi's office and asked him to leave.

Not only that, through the same sources it is learned that two powerful businessmen in Albania have met with the current head of KMSH and asked him to make a fictitious withdrawal from office. These efforts come at a time when conflict within the Muslim Community has surfaced between a group considered close to Turkey and accusing Spahi of being a Gulenist. A few weeks ago, in front of the headquarters of the Albanian Muslim Committee, there was also a protest against the chairman Bujar Spahi, while the existence of an internal conflict was confirmed for MCN by the Chairman of the State Committee for Cults, an institution that oversees relations between religious communities and the State.

It seems that the conflict raging for the chairman of the KMSH is also holding hostage the opening of the prayer mosque, which is being built with funds from the Turkish Muslim faithful. For this reason, even President Erdogan has postponed the visit planned for the inauguration of this mosque.

The works for the construction of the Namazgja Mosque started in 2015 and were expected to last 2-3 years. But today, after 8 years, the doors of the mosque are still not open for Muslim believers and visitors.

As for the reason why the Namazgja Mosque has not yet been opened, bulku says that he has no information.

We remind you that the elections for the president of the KMSH for the next 4 years will take place in March 2024. MCN TV asked to receive a comment from the Muslim Community of Albania on these issues, but the institution refused to give a reaction. The mosque with four minarets in the capital was built with the funds of the Directorate of Religious Affairs of Turkey and the Diyanet Foundation. But in an interview for the Voice of America in January 2022, the former head of KMSH Skender Bruçaj said that if the works were not completed, KMSH had the capacities to make the mosque functional. /MCN
