A large-scale fire has engulfed the Manatia area in Lezha today, causing panic and a serious threat to homes and businesses in the area. The flames have invaded an area of vegetation and thorn bushes, while strong winds are spreading the fire in several directions, making it difficult for forces on the ground to intervene.
Firefighters are at the scene, assisted by local residents, but their efforts to contain the fire are being hampered by adverse weather conditions.
Meanwhile, according to the latest data from the National Operational Center for Civil Emergencies at AKMC, 47 fires have been registered across the country today alone. From 09:00 to 22:00, operational forces have managed to extinguish 45 of them, after a continuous action in several districts.
Currently, in addition to the fire in Manati, two other fires are still active: one in the village of Fushë-Gjorm, Mamurras administrative unit, Kurbin municipality, and the other at the Dajç intersection, Dajç administrative unit, Lezha municipality. In both cases, intensive work is being done to isolate the flames by firefighting teams and local structures.
