Arben Muçobega, the businessman linked to drug traffickers Ben Qimja and Renato Çami, went from a small company in Fier to the Rama government's favorite oligarch. Through numerous companies, he launders millions of euros from drugs and corruption, while SPAK has not yet launched a full investigation...
Businessman Arben Sadik Muçobega, once the owner of a modest construction business in the village of “Çlirim” in Fier, is now ranked among the main oligarchs close to the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama. Despite documented links to drug trafficking and clandestine activities, Muçobega continues to benefit from giant construction projects on land and beaches given free of charge by the state.
At the fair organized by the government in Athens, Rama himself and Minister Mirela Kumbaro specifically promoted Arben Muçobega's "Bega 07" company, although this business is the subject of numerous denunciations to SPAK for money laundering and corruption.
After the Socialist Party came to power, Muçobega quickly transformed into a VIP builder, securing permits for palaces, towers, hotels and resorts in Saranda, Himara, Vlora, Fier and Tirana, in a dubious manner and often on state lands looted with false documents.
Financial analyses show that the company “Bega 07” has systematically concealed its real income. In the years 2023-2024, Muçobega declared only 5 million euros in annual turnover, while real investments reach up to 25 million euros per year. To hide these figures, he has created several other companies such as “Almatek Oy”, “Scandinavia Invest”, “Trakos” and “ATK Construction”, all registered at the same address in Fier, and used as channels for money laundering.
A shocking fact is that the company “Almatek Oy” uses the NIPT of the design company “Compass Studio”, thus avoiding financial control. Also, the company “Scandinavia Invest” appears only in the Central Bank and not in the tax registers, thus avoiding fiscal obligations.
Through these dubious companies, Muçobega has circulated around 300 million euros in the construction of palaces and resorts. Preliminary investigations in Saranda, Vlora, Fier and Tirana for drug trafficking, tax evasion and money laundering have been closed without reason by law enforcement authorities.
A blatant example is the approval in February 2025 of the resort “The Concave” in Llamani Bay, Himara, a previously declared natural protected area. This project was approved at the proposal of Minister Mirela Kumbaro, clearly demonstrating the political influence in favor of Arben Muçobega and his criminal group.
SPAK has yet to react seriously to this flagrant case, raising doubts about the integrity of the justice system and increasing public pressure for a full and transparent investigation. / Pamphlet
