In Vlora, a city of dilapidated roads, unemployment, and degraded public services, Brunilda Mersini's candidacy for mayor has become the clearest example of the disconnect between the political elite and the citizens.
In a city where many families survive on minimum wages, the Socialist Party candidate appears in public with a diamond bracelet worth 6,895 euros; a shining symbol of the arrogance of power and the moral poverty that accompanies it.
This is no longer a personal luxury. It is a political message. A message that says: “we don’t live like you, but you will vote for us again.”
In a time of economic crisis, where citizens can barely cover basic bills, a political figure who holds a fortune that is equal to the annual salaries of several workers shows that power in Albania is no longer a public service, but an exhibition of wealth.
An “organized” candidate for a captured power
As “Pamphlet” considered in its article dated October 20, Mersini is not an ordinary candidate, but the product of an organized structure operating within the Socialist Party and the municipalities, where appointments, tenders and campaigns are financed through networks linked to shady business and political interests.
The report shows that her candidacy is not socialist, but supported by a network that guarantees control of public funds through obedient people, who carry out orders from above without any sense of responsibility towards the citizen.
In this sense, Mersin is not an individual, but a link in the chain of local power capture. She is the “soft face” of a system that functions through corruption, nepotism, and displays of luxury to cover up the real poverty of the citizens.
The diamond that illuminates the moral darkness
A diamond bracelet on the wrist of a politician who has abandoned the citizen is like a cynical light falling on the face of misery.
In a country where hospitals lack medicines, where children study in dilapidated schools and where pensioners live on less than 200 euros a month, a candidate who appears as an "icon of elegance" does not represent hope, but contempt.
The question is no longer “how beautiful is the diamond,” but “how pure is the source of wealth that brought it there.”
If wealth and power collide on the body of a poor city, then this is no longer decorum, but evidence of a system that has neither morality nor shame.
Vlora, once a city of ideas and civic courage, has today become a laboratory for the seizure of power, where the rich become richer, the poor more silent, and political candidates more disconnected than ever from reality.

Kandidature e kesaj lloji personazhi eshte turpi me i madh qe i eshte bere qytetit te Vlores por e kuptueshme persa kohe qyteti (dhe gjithi shteti) i eshte dorezuar kriminelave te 97 qe po lulezojne edhe nje here por ne forma me te sofistikuara duke qendruar ne hije te perfaqesuesve te qeverise. Jam pa fjale ku kemi arritur…
Kush bën transparente një statistikë? Sa gra lindnin 'normalisht' dhe sa me ndërhyrje 'kirurgjikale' në sistemin monist? Dhe si qëndron ky raport pas vitit 1992 e deri më sot? Kush është roli i mjekëve dhe drejtorëve të spitaleve publike dhe private dhe a lidhet kjo me korrupsionin?
