A question to the lightning rod Blendi Gonxhe: - Why doesn't he implement

After the denunciation of the "Pamphlet" for the removal of the Lëkurës Castle from the list of monuments, Minister Gonxhja reacted by hiding the fact that for 20 months he has refused to implement the government's decision to remove the trafficker Andrea Çaushi from this castle. The goal is clear: prepare the ground for the castle to be handed over to the oligarch Dajlan Avdia, a personal friend of Edi Rama, for the construction of a luxury resort on public property.

On April 22, 2025, "Pamfleti" published a denunciation based on the testimony of an official of the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation, according to which Minister Blendi Gonxhja had removed the Lëkurës Castle in Saranda from the list of monuments. The purpose: to pave the way for the construction of a 68-hectare luxury resort with villas, hotels, palaces, towers and a casino by the oligarch Dajlan Avdia, a character known for his personal and business ties with Edi Rama.

Following this denunciation, on April 23, Minister Blendi Gonxhja reacted through a ministry statement, categorically denying the removal of the castle from the list of monuments. But this reaction was a clear attempt to hide the major scandal related to the occupation and commercial use of the Lëkurës Castle by the trafficker Andrea Çaushi.

In his public response, Gonxha stated that the castle continues to be a protected cultural monument, referring to a formal decision from 2023 by former minister Elva Margariti, but hiding the fact that the name of Lëkurës Castle had been deleted from the list of monuments on the ministry's official website two weeks ago.

Minister Gonxhja also "forgot" to mention that Lëkurës Castle has been used for years as a private resort—initially by former MP Vangjel Tavo and his family, who illegally exploited it by building buildings and conducting illegal excavations, and then transferred it to trafficker Andrea Çaushi in exchange for a debt of 1.5 million euros.

A question to the lightning rod Blendi Gonxhe: - Why doesn't he implement

Currently, Andrea Çaushi continues to illegally exploit this cultural monument, turning it into a hotel-restaurant and commercial space, with an occupied area of 3200 m² even outside the castle.

In fact, with decision no. 501 dated August 24, 2023, personally signed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, the Lëkurës Castle was formally removed from the hands of the trafficker Çaushi and was fully transferred to the administration of the Ministry of Culture. However, even though 20 months have passed, Minister Gonxhja has not implemented this decision, refusing to remove the trafficker Çaushi from the castle.

A question to the lightning rod Blendi Gonxhe: - Why doesn't he implement

The question that "Pamphlet" publicly addresses to Minister Gonxhja is direct: Why do you refuse to implement the government's decision to remove trafficker Andrea Çaushi from Kalaja e Lëkurës?

This question cannot be answered other than the fact that everything is a well-prepared scenario by Edi Rama himself and his loyal minister Gonxhja, to finally hand over the monument to the mafia Dajlan Avdia, another personal friend of Prime Minister Rama./ Pamphlet
