Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that Kosovo's independence cannot serve as a pretext for seizing territories from other countries.
Rama made the comments during his speech at the meeting of the UN Security Council, which is chaired by the Prime Minister himself.
According to Rama, Russia and other countries have used Kosovo's independence to justify their neo-imperial dreams. He further stated that Albania will stand by Ukraine and not the aggressor.
"Russia and others have tried to misuse the birth of the Republic of Kosovo, to justify their neo-imperial dreams. The independence of Kosovo, which has been sanctioned by the International Criminal Court, cannot serve as a pretext for grabbing territories. Regardless of language, race and nationality and not to build walls for the ghosts of the past.
If peace in our region is tangible, it has to do with lessons learned from the past. By moving through cooperation rather than creating barriers.
