Turkish and Chinese concessionaires openly steal national wealth, while the Rama government protects them by allowing tax evasion, murder of workers, and extreme exploitation in mines...
On May 1, 2025, oil workers of the concession company "Bankers" protested massively in front of the company's offices in Marinza, against low wages and continuous fraud over the last 7 years, while the Chinese company has staggering profits that reach up to 400 million euros per year. The Albanian government was silent and continues to be silent, becoming a party to the abuses of "Bankers", which for 20 years has been stealing the national oil wealth, exporting it completely without paying taxes and royalties, leaving workers in extreme working conditions and ridiculous salaries.
On May 3, 2025, the collapse of a mineral mass at the Ferro-Krom factory in Burrel claimed the life of 29-year-old worker Ardit Beshiri. The tragedy occurred due to unsafe working conditions, the direct responsibility of the Turkish concessionaires and Chinese subcontractors. The victim's father, Nerim Beshiri, stated that the Turkish and Chinese owners of the company "Tete Albania-Burrel" disappeared immediately after the event and have not been seen at the factory since. Instead of using specialized structures, the government sent only 6 soldiers with picks and shovels to search for the missing body.
Meanwhile, a month ago, Prime Minister Rama was informed of a confidential tax and customs report, which showed that another Turkish-Chinese company “Beralb-Nesko Metal” in Fushë-Arrëz, declares only 30% of the mineral it actually extracts and exports, always reporting fictitious balance sheets with losses. This open theft of national assets is openly tolerated by Albanian institutions with a silent order from the Prime Minister.
Also, the Turkish company “Yildirim Albania Mining Investments”, which exploits the chrome mine in Bulqiza, has not implemented any contractual obligations regarding safety, wages or working conditions. Moreover, in cooperation with the State Labor Inspectorate, the police and the prosecutor’s office, the causes of deaths and accidents in the mine are manipulated. Here too, the Turks report only half of the real production and do not pay either mining royalties or taxes to the local and central government, ruthlessly exploiting the workers.
In the recent tragic case of the loss of life of Ardit Beshiri in Burrel, the Turkish and Chinese owners were allowed to leave the country, while the police registered the event as a "negligent accident". This is just another episode that proves the complicity and silence of the Rama government in the face of the criminal abuse of foreign concessionaires./ Pamphlet
