The Republic Guard seems to be in turmoil. The departure of Ermal Onuz was seen as a signal that things will change, as the history of abusive leaders is long. In his place, Simon Zereci was appointed, a worse copy, whose file contains criminal facts, abuse of office and links to crime.
For 8 months, the 63-year-old Simon Zereci, having seen the benefits of illegal favors and benefits of bragging like a cub, attempted to bargain to be appointed Director of the Guard with a 5-year mandate. In the competition opened a short time ago, he expressed interest, along with 7 other names: Arian Sopiqoti, Denis Deliu, Faik Basha, Ilirjan Hasanaj, Liman Hoxha, Vasil Çuni and Zaje Osma.
The candidates were tested. The procedure was completed. But the predetermined candidate did not win. And this is where the scandal broke out. The Ministry of Interior said that the procedure was closed without a winner, even though there were other valuable figures in the race. So, since Zereci, who will continue to be in command, did not win, no one else can be appointed.
And after this scandal, other movements have begun. Today, two dismissals have been made in the ranks of the Republic Guard. It is learned that the Director of Planning and Control (DPK), Chief Commissioner Arjan Sopiqoti, has been removed from his post. In his place, First Director Agim Hila has been appointed. The Director for the Security of High State Personalities (DSPLSH) has also been removed, while the position remains vacant. It should be noted that Arjan Sopiqoti was among the competitors for the position of director.
Meanwhile, it is learned that the Ministry of Interior is considering making legal changes, after the failure of the competition. The plan is to establish other criteria for candidates. It is also intended to restore the age of retirement for high ranks: Chief Commissioner 57 years old, Director 59 years old and First Director 61 years old. If this happens, Simoni seems to be thrown away like a squeezed lemon, since he is 63 years old. But it could also be another maneuver to make him chairman, so we must wait for the law. /Pamphlet
