Kosta Trebicka disappeared, but those who signed over his dead body are today politically alive, appointed, elected, privileged. Now they no longer defend the regime, but are the system itself. In the name of the people. With the signature of Sali Berisha.
One of the key witnesses who could lead to the truth about the Gërdec tragedy, Kosta Trebicka, was found dead on September 12, 2008, a few days after he had denounced Shkëlzen Berisha by name as the beneficiary of the weapons dismantling affair.

The person who signed that he "died in an accident"?
Zija Ismaili, today a member of parliament for the Democratic Party, second on the closed list of the Berat District, commissioned by Sali Berisha himself.
In the expert report signed late at night, after midnight on September 12, 2008, doctor Zija Ismaili, then head of the Berat Hospital and a senior electoral functionary of the DP in this region, declared the cause of death to be “injuries from a car accident”.
But the truth is that this version was communicated by Sali Berisha and the State Police a few hours before the expert report was carried out. So, the medical report was not an analysis, it was simply a cover-up.
Zija Ismaili was not alone. The group that signed Kosta Trebicka's expertise also included:
Admir Sinamati, today the chairman of the DP in Kukës and a former candidate for mayor in the 2023 elections;
Hasan Laho and Robert Bicolli, doctors known for their connections to the political structures of the DP.
This group acted on orders. And the order came from above: from Berisha. This is why, immediately after this event, Zija Ismaili is rewarded with a position as a lecturer at the University of Medicine and is politically placed in Saliu's trusted orbit.
In 2023, he runs for mayor of Berat. In 2025, he puts him on the closed list for deputies. Today, he is in Parliament.
Today, in the new legislature that emerged from the May 11 elections, Sali Berisha has introduced into parliament another co-author of the cover-up of the Gërdec crime. The one who signed the false expert report on one of the most sensational political murders in the history of Albania.
And this is no coincidence. Today, in the Assembly, besides Berisha and Fatmir Mediu, the two people politically responsible for Gërdec, there is also Zija Ismaili, the doctor who signed the end of the truth about Kosta Trebicka./ Pamphlet
