"$1 billion disaster," how Democrats are getting frustrated by Kamala

From the November 5 election, Donald Trump won 312 electoral college votes. The Republican candidate managed to win all 7 states that were considered decisive for the presidential race, thereby defeating all polls, which in 3 states favored the Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris.

And while Trump seems to be finalizing the team with which he will run the White House, on the other hand, the Democrats are trying to find a culprit for the deep loss.

Supporters of Harris have accused incumbent President Joe Biden of being responsible for losing the race, not just in the White House, but also in the Senate, while in Congress they still have some hope that they can stop the Republican momentum.

Democratic National Committee (DNC) official Lindy Li called Vice President Harris' bid for the White House a "$1 billion disaster."

"The truth is, this is just the latest epic disaster, this is a $1 billion disaster," Li, a member of the DNC's National Finance Committee, said during her Saturday morning appearance on "Fox & Friends Weekend".

“They're $20 million or $18 million in debt. It's incredible, and I collected millions of them. I have friends to whom I have to be accountable and explain what happened because I told them it was a margin of error race," she added.

She went on to say that Harris' campaign chairman, Jen O'Malley Dillon, "promised us all that Harris would win."

“She even released videos saying Harris was going to win,” Li said Saturday, adding “ I believed her, my donors believed her. I just feel like a lot of us were cheated."

After Trump's triumph, Democrats have begun to clash over the strategy the party decided on and who should be blamed for the outcome of the election. Some argue that the party did not move far enough to the left to satisfy the base, while centrists argue that the party moved too far to the left and alienated more moderate supporters in swing states. Harris lost all seven battleground states.

Some inside the party have said that Democrats need to start focusing more on messaging and better gauge the temperature of the electorate.

Li said that even on election night, she heard Democrats express confidence in Harris' hopes of winning the election, something Li herself did not fully understand.

"I asked them, 'are you aware of internal numbers that I'm not seeing' because I studied this so carefully and I just didn't see any basis for that level of confidence," she said.
