Bullets and mystery, Israel seizes 54 ships of the flotilla to Gaza; no
Israeli army operation

The Albanian activist was part of the "Sumud" humanitarian mission, contacts were cut off after the Israeli navy intervened in international waters.

High tension in the Eastern Mediterranean, after the Israeli navy intervened against the "Global Sumud Flotilla" humanitarian flotilla, stopping one after another the 54 ships that had set off from Turkey towards Gaza with humanitarian aid.

The latest footage released from live broadcasts shows the moment when Israeli soldiers in Zodiac boats approach the ships, while activists appear wearing life jackets and raising their hands. All communication has since been cut off, and for some of the people on board there is no longer any public information on their location or condition.

The situation worsened further after the Italian flotilla's spokeswoman, Maria Elena Delia, stated that the Israeli navy had opened fire on some of the ships.

" We don't know if they are rubber bullets or real ones ," she declared, claiming that at least six ships were hit during the operation.

According to Italian authorities, at least 27 Italian citizens have been detained and the ships are being escorted to the Israeli port of Ashdod. Meanwhile, several European countries, including Italy, Spain, Ireland and Turkey, have requested information and the release of their citizens.

Among those arrested is Albanian activist Baki Goxhaj, who was part of the humanitarian flotilla “Sumud.” He is suspected of being detained by Israeli authorities in international waters during the naval operation.

But until now, there is no clear information about where the Albanian is, what condition he is in, and whether he has had contact with Albanian authorities or his family.

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs reacted by stating that it has been made aware of the case and is pursuing the matter through diplomatic channels.

" The ministry is in communication with the competent Israeli authorities to provide complete information on the situation and to guarantee respect for the rights of the Albanian citizen ," the official response states.

However, so far no concrete details have been made public on where Baki Goxhaj is being held, whether he has been transferred to an Israeli port or whether he has had consular access.

Meanwhile, Israel continues to consider the flotilla a "political provocation," while activists insist that the mission was exclusively humanitarian in nature and aimed at delivering aid to civilians in Gaza.
