Former Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic has made strong statements regarding a scenario that, according to him, aimed to destabilize Kosovo and compromise the KFOR mission in the early 2000s.

In an interview with Television E, Djukanovic brought to attention the so-called "S.Ç." affair, a scandal that erupted in 2002 and was related to allegations of sex trafficking in Montenegro.

According to him, behind this issue was a broader political and Serbian secret service operation, aimed at destabilizing Montenegro and obstructing important political processes in the region, including Podgorica's move towards independence from Serbia.

Djukanovic claims that the main objective was to compromise KFOR and its military leaders in Kosovo.

"The goal was to compromise KFOR in Kosovo and its military command. For this purpose, 27 girls were being prepared who would approach senior KFOR military officials. Among them was S.Ç.", he declared.

According to the former Montenegrin president, authorities had obtained information that the girls were training at the Obiliq club's stadium in Belgrade.

"Fortunately, KFOR and UNMIK managed to receive the information in time and prevent that activity," said Djukanovic.

He also accused structures close to former Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica and Serbian military services of organizing this operation.

In his interview, Djukanovic also spoke about the political situation in Montenegro at the time, stating that the scandal was used to damage the image of the government led by the DPS-SDP coalition and to create the perception that Montenegro was a state associated with corruption and trafficking.

He also mentioned the role of several Montenegrin officials of the time, who, according to him, exploited the issue for personal political interests.
