The United States Embassy in Riyadh was hit by two drones, according to Saudi authorities, who report minor material damage and a limited fire within the perimeter of the building.
A spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Defense said that, according to initial assessments, two unmanned aerial vehicles hit the US diplomatic compound in the capital. He explained that the attack caused a small fire and partial material damage to the building.
Authorities are not reporting any casualties or injuries. Emergency services immediately intervened to isolate the area and extinguish the flames. Investigators are analyzing the drone debris to determine the origin and type of equipment used.
The US Embassy in Riyadh has not yet issued a detailed statement on the incident. Media sources confirm that security around diplomatic facilities has been tightened and air defense forces have been placed on heightened alert.
