As the online account "General SVR" reports, which is supposedly run by a former top spy in Russia, has stated that on Sunday, Assad suddenly felt ill.

Last month it was revealed that al-Assad's wife, Asma, had been banned from returning to the UK. The 49-year-old, born in London, will not be able to return home as her passport has expired.
The couple fled Syria's collapse after Assad's two decades in power were swept away within days by furious rebels.
