Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that it is not true that French President Emmanuel Macron blackmailed him to impose sanctions on Russia and that Serbia will not change its position on this issue.
"Serbia is proud of its position. Nobody can blackmail Serbia. They say that Macron blackmailed me because of the Sky memo. This is not true. I had a friendly meeting with Macron and I am proud of the results of those talks", said Vucic at the conference in the "Mir" villa.
He said that Quinti countries are sympathetic to the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and that "they are lying when they say that Belgrade is to blame".
He complained and victimized himself that the Serbian people will be attacked in the coming months, but that he and his associates will fight with all means to preserve the country's reputation.
In 2022, Vučić presented the conclusions reached at the National Security Council of Serbia, related to the crisis in Ukraine.
Reading the conclusions, Vučić said that Serbia will not impose sanctions on Russia at the moment, because it is "guided by its vital economic and political interests".
What do the conclusions of Serbia say?
In the conclusion, it is stated that Serbia gives full support to the territorial integrity of Ukraine and that it considers the violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine to be wrong.
But, in the conclusions, the Russian operations were not called the invasion of Ukraine, which is the position of the European countries.
At the beginning of the conclusions it is said that "Serbia sincerely expresses regret" for the events in the east of Europe. It has also been said that Russia and Ukraine are friendly states of Serbia and that the Serbian people "consider them as brotherly peoples".
According to the conclusions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, in cooperation with other competent bodies, will take measures to protect the security of Serbian citizens living in Ukraine.
It is also said that the state will prevent the participation of Serbian citizens in the conflicts in Ukraine, and that all "volunteers" involved in that conflict will be sanctioned.
As stated, Serbia will provide all kinds of assistance to the endangered people and the population of Ukraine.
As stated, Serbia will suspend military exercises with all foreign partners until further notice.
Vucic said that Serbia made the decision "wisely, with a cool head, in the best interest of Serbia".
He emphasized that the conclusions of the National Security Council will be forwarded to the Government in the next 48 hours.

Responding to journalists' questions about sanctions against Russia, Vucic said a few months ago:
"What do you think, that we will just impose sanctions on the Russian Federation overnight, which is the only one that did not impose sanctions on us in the 90s, that did not impose sanctions on the Republika Srpska (entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina)", Vucic asked, adding that Russia defended Serbia's interests before the UN Security Council.
Russia supports Serbia in the fight against the recognition of Kosovo's independence in the United Nations.
Vucic added that Serbia is in a "difficult position", because Ukraine also protects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia and that Serbia "has never done anything bad".
Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine in the early hours of February 24. Western countries have condemned Russia's actions and imposed sanctions on Moscow.
From the countries of the region, Kosovo, Montenegro, Albania, North Macedonia and Croatia have condemned the Russian attack on Ukraine. Kosovo has joined the United States and the European Union in imposing sanctions on Russia. Meanwhile, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are the only ones that have not condemned the Russian aggression.
