The testimonies of eyewitnesses who were at the music festival on the Gaza-Israel border and managed to escape alive from the hands of Hamas terrorists are shocking.
"A person who was at the festival described the horrors of the attack. The attack on the Nova tribe festival outside Reim began around 7am. The party had started and most people had been drinking. At first, bystanders heard a loud explosion, which they assumed was another sporadic rocket attack in southern Israel.
But then the explosions became stronger and more continuous and lasted about five minutes. The music stopped and the police who were protecting the 4,000 or 5,000 people started telling them to leave ."
According to what an eyewitness said by then, Hamas terrorists were approaching in trucks. The shooting started. Many were executed on the spot. 260 bodies are known to have been found so far.
Many of the youth started running for their lives and the terrorists fired indiscriminately.
"Others were captured, tied up and kidnapped. I saw a video of a man being held by a group of Arabs.
He was about 16, 17 years old,” said one survivor.
"They are children, young people caught them. A girl was kidnapped, God knows what will happen to her.
Women were raped in the party premises next to the dead bodies of their friends. Some of these rape victims were later executed. Others were sent to Gaza. In the photos published on the Internet, many of them were running through the streets of the city.
"It felt like they were shooting over our heads," said one survivor. "I hid in a bush. I could feel the shots coming from everywhere.
I figured we'd be there for at least two hours. And I had nothing with me. And I said, the only thing I want is a gun. I want something to protect us." Finally, she and his friends, some of them barefoot, decided to take a risk and try to get to safety by walking right next to the road.
"I said, if we see anything that looks like a military or police car, we're going to hit the road. When we saw police and army cars, we knew it was a safe place."
Gili Yoskovich was among hundreds at the festival and described to the BBC how he hid under a tree as gunmen wandered around and shot anyone they found.
“Terrorists were coming from all directions, so we didn't know if we should go here, so I got back in my car and drove a little more. Some were shooting at me.
I left the car and started running, I saw a place with many trees and went there. So I found myself in the middle of this field, until someone came to save me,” she said.
