The bus that crashed yesterday from the overpass in Mestre, Italy, took the lives of 21 tourists. The bus was driven by 40-year-old Alberto Rizzotto, originally from Italy.
His colleagues say that he is an experienced driver and has been doing this job for 7 years.
Rizzotto was an employee of Martini Bus, who had rented the vehicle from the company La Linea with which it had a contract for the transport of tourists in Venice.
We remind you that the accident happened shortly before 20:00 at the overpass of the connecting road that leads from Mestre to Marghera and the A4 highway.
The bus, for still unclear reasons, penetrated the parapet and fell, ending up between a warehouse and the tracks of the Mestre station, catching fire. According to the information, some of the first victims found were burned alive after the bus collided with the power line.
From the new figures, it is said that the balance of the accident occurred is 21 dead, 12 injured and some missing, a number of 4-5 people who are still not found.
