The dynamics of the serious accident in Venice, Italy, still remains unclear, according to the first suspicions, the cause may have been the health condition of the driver, or some wrong maneuver at a point where they were carrying out work on the renovation of the overpass.
According to the prefect of the area, Veneto Luca Zaia, the injured are foreign tourists and among them there are also children. He added that the victims have not yet been identified, but it is suspected that they are foreign nationals of different nationalities, as Ukrainian documents were found on the bus.
" Several minors were also involved in the accident. The victims and the injured are of different nationalities, not only Italians: the extraction and identification of the bodies are still being carried out by the Fire Department, the police station and the medical workers, whom I thank for their efforts. theirs" , said Luca Zaia.
He also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, as he added that the injured are receiving appropriate treatment in local hospitals.
" I immediately express the condolences of the entire Veneto Region to all the families who in these hours are experiencing a very serious loss or are affected by the condition of their injured loved ones. I asked our entire health system to put every resource possible to provide maximum assistance" , he concluded.
