Direct talks between the United States and Iran are continuing without visible progress, while the key issue of control of the Strait of Hormuz remains unresolved, Al Jazeera reported.

According to sources, the parties have each presented their own framework for the agreement, but so far there is no sign of a common ground. The gap between the positions is considered deep, making it difficult to reach a compromise at this stage.

However, negotiations continue, with both sides seemingly trying to avoid breaking off the dialogue. Iranian state television confirmed the continuation of the talks, describing the American demands as "excessive."

At the same time, these negotiations have been described as "the last hope for achieving peace," a formulation that underscores the importance and sensitivity of this round of talks.

According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, the American delegation includes JD Vance, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, while the Iranian side is represented by Abbas Araghchi, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Ali Bagheri Kani.

In a commentary, Tasnim emphasizes that "this appears to be the last opportunity for the Iranian team to reach a common framework in this round of negotiations."

In this context, the outcome of the talks remains uncertain, with the process moving between attempts at compromise and the real risk of failure, while the issue of Hormuz continues to be the strongest point of conflict between the parties.
