A maritime incident has been reported in the Strait of Hormuz, where, according to the Iranian Tasnim news agency, a Revolutionary Guard patrol boat opened fire on a container ship that "ignored repeated warnings."
Tasnim reports that the intervention took place about 30 kilometers off the coast of Oman and was carried out as part of what it describes as "maritime law enforcement."
According to the agency, "Iranian forces opened fire on a container ship after it ignored repeated warnings, causing significant damage to the vessel."
In a different position, the British Maritime Operations Agency (UKMTO), referring to the ship's own reporting, emphasizes that "there was no radio communication with the Revolutionary Guard patrol vessel", raising questions about the Iranian version of events.
