Footage has been released of the spectacular operation by the French Navy in the Atlantic Ocean, where over 4.2 tons of cocaine were seized on a fishing vessel sailing under the Polish flag, but with Greek interests. The ship “Ourania A” was stopped in international waters, after a coordinated international action with the participation of the US DEA, Greek authorities and French special forces, who landed on the vessel with helicopters and drones.
The video shows French commandos boarding the ship, entering its holds and discovering 138 packages of cocaine, previously loaded in the open sea near the Caribbean. The ship had set off from Néa Michaniona in Greece and stopped off the coast of Venezuela, where it is suspected that the drugs were loaded for later transport to Europe.

There were five people on board, including the main suspect, a Greek citizen known by the media as the "Greek Escobar", who turns out to have been part of an international drug trafficking network that operated for years through fishing vessels disguised as legal companies.
The investigation, which lasted over a year and was codenamed “Ippalos,” was initiated by information received at the DEA offices at the US Embassy in Athens, and led to the arrest of 10 people, including the main organizer, who had previously been convicted in Germany for drug trafficking. According to authorities, the network had illicit profits of over 100 million euros and used financial structures to launder money through visible activities such as ship management, humanitarian foundations and football clubs.
The operation was described as one of the largest in the fight against cocaine trafficking on the high seas, and the ship is still being seized in Martinique, where French authorities are continuing their investigations into the international network involved.
