'Nobody can play with me,' Trump warns Zelensky and Putin

"Nobody can play with me," Donald Trump said from the White House, sending a message to Russia and Ukraine, after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had earlier warned that the US would withdraw from ceasefire negotiations in Ukraine if there was no progress soon.

"My whole life has been one big negotiation and I know when people are playing with us and when they're not," he said, according to Skynews, stating that he wants to see "enthusiasm to end the war."

"I think I see this emotion on both sides," he added.

"Nobody is playing with me. I'm trying to help," he replied when asked if he believes the Russians are playing with the US.

However, he added that "we have a very good chance" of reaching an agreement and that this moment is approaching.

At the same time, Trump warned that the United States is ready to take another step "very soon" if an agreement is not reached between Moscow and Kiev to end the war in Ukraine.

"We will stop participating" in efforts to resolve the war in Ukraine if Russia or Ukraine make it too difficult to end the conflict, he noted, stressing that he did not want to say he was withdrawing from the talks. He stressed that he still believes there is a good chance of ending the conflict.

"There is no set number of days, but we want to resolve this quickly," the US president stressed from the White House.

His statements follow those of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who threatened earlier today that Washington "will take another step" if it concludes that peace "is not possible".

Rubio said that while the United States is committed to helping end the war, if a clear path to peace does not emerge soon, then it will withdraw from peace mediation efforts, the State Department announced.
