The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, has announced that around 10,000 Ukrainian civilians have been killed since the beginning of the war.
The report published today confirms the death of 9,444 civilians, while another 16,940 have been injured since February 2022.
Among the victims are at least 500 children. The UN adds that the death toll from the war could be even higher because there is no updated data for many regions and cities, especially those occupied by the Russians.
According to confirmed data obtained by the UN, 7,339 were killed in Ukrainian regions bombed by the Russians and protected by the Ukrainian army.
