Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump this evening. US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner also participated in the call.
The conversation reportedly focused on issues that will be addressed tomorrow at the bilateral meeting in Geneva, as well as preparations for the upcoming trilateral negotiations (Ukraine-US-Russia) in early March.
Zelensky expressed hope that these meetings will pave the way for negotiations at the leadership level. He stressed that President Trump supports this sequence of steps, considering it the only way to resolve complex and sensitive issues and finally end the war.
According to Zelensky's statement, the Ukrainian and US negotiating teams are working intensively to reach a peace agreement. He thanked the American side for their active engagement in the negotiations and efforts to end the war.
