US President suspends attacks on energy facilities for 10 days, as negotiations continue amid tensions
United States President Donald Trump announced that he has decided to postpone the ultimatum to strike Iranian energy facilities by 10 days, extending the deadline until April 6. The decision was made public through a statement on social media.
According to Trump, this move comes after a request from the Iranian side and aims to give more time to the ongoing negotiation process.
" At the request of the Iranian government, I am suspending the destruction of the power station for 10 days, until Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8:00 PM Eastern Time ," he wrote.
In the same statement, the American president stressed that talks between the two parties are ongoing and, according to him, "are going very well," contradicting media reports that suggest the opposite.
" Negotiations are ongoing and, despite inaccurate statements from fake news media and others, are progressing very well ," he added.
The decision to postpone the ultimatum comes at a tense moment, with the United States increasing its military presence in the region and warning of the possibility of attacks on Iran's energy infrastructure if a deal is not reached.
The extension of the deadline signals an attempt to keep the diplomatic channel open while military pressure remains present. Trump's optimistic statements about the progress of the negotiations contrast with the uncertainty that characterizes the situation on the ground.
