
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, is investigating the explosion of a vehicle on the "Rainbow" bridge that connects the United States with Canada near Niagara Falls, according to a statement from the American law enforcement agency. The incident happened near the border control point, where as a result two people who were in the car lost their lives.
Authorities in New York state are investigating the incident, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said in a post on the X Network on Wednesday.
Local TV station WIVB reported that all four border crossings with Canada in western New York were closed Wednesday because of a vehicle explosion on the bridge. The news agency could not confirm the report.
Until the publication of this news, there were no comments from the American or Canadian border guards. Also, there have been no reactions from State Department officials regarding the announcements about the closure of the border crossing points between the United States and Canada.
