Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni raised the issue of immigrants as a concern again during an interview given to public radio and television Rai.
During the interview, she said that the immigrant penetration part is not very important, but added that something must be done to stop the large influx of refugees that are coming every day.
" The issue of deportation is not very important, they have been few in recent months. The problem is stopping immigrants from coming to Italy ," Meloni stressed.
She confirmed that "some time ago Italy informed its partners that it cannot automatically receive those who sought asylum in other countries and had first entered Europe from Italy".
" Our country is full and Europe must help us protect our borders ", said the head of the Italian government.
Referring to organized crime, she emphasized that "she will not allow herself to be intimidated" and that "the Italian government and state will respond to any aggressive act of organized crime."
Regarding her relationship with the commissioner for economic and monetary affairs, Paolo Gentiloni, the Italian prime minister stated that she has the impression that in the last year she gave many interviews in which she criticized her work in the government.
" It seemed to me that the approach was based more on criticism than cooperation, but this does not mean that I want to fight with Gentiloni" , she added.
