According to the Prime Minister's statement, Netanyahu has changed the schedule of his return from the USA, which was originally planned for Saturday evening.
The prime minister's press office also released a photo of Netanyahu on a phone as he reportedly approved the airstrike in Beirut.
According to reports in the Israeli press, Netanyahu will go to the Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv immediately after arriving in Israel and will hold "security consultation" meetings.
The Israeli military carried out airstrikes in Beirut and announced it had bombed a point it claimed was Hezbollah's main headquarters in the Dahiye region south of the Lebanese capital.
The Israeli press claimed that Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah was also targeted in the bombing.
