Donald Trump today released his official photo as the 47th president of the United States, which bears a striking resemblance to a photo of himself taken two years ago in a Georgia prison.
Head slightly tilted forward, right eyebrow furrowed, lips tightly closed, and sharp gaze: the official photo appears to be a copy-paste of the one taken for police records on August 24, 2023, when he was prosecuted for attempting to overturn the result of the 2020 election in the state of Georgia.
The only difference is: in the police file photo, Trump is wearing a red tie, in the official one, blue. His blue jacket has an American flag lapel pin.
A year and a half ago, the Republican billionaire, who will be sworn in as president on January 20, posted a photo of himself as a defendant on the X platform, with the message "Never give up!".
Trump used this photo of himself to his advantage in a provocative style, repeatedly repeating that he is the victim of a “witch hunt.” He used it on T-shirts, hats, mugs everywhere during his election campaign.
The T-shirt with the word "Wanted" thrilled his fans who still wear it today, infinitely increasing sales of items related to it.
Trump's presidential portrait bears an uncanny resemblance to his Georgia prison photo.
The caption of the official photo briefly states: "In four days, Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States."
