Former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl, who fled the country due to threats to her life and accusations of ties to Russia , has rented a house in the village of Petrushovo in Russia. The former minister was helped by acquaintances to get the apartment.
" I paid for one more month, and then we will see. I don't know anything about my future, nothing ," Kneissl said.

"It was not easy to come here, but I am trying to find my way, although it is not easy. I like it here, this village is very beautiful.

Karin Kneissl headed Austria's Foreign Ministry from 2017 to 2019. In 2018, the former minister attracted media attention by dancing at her wedding to Russian President Vladimir Putin, which seems to be paying dearly.
She claims to have last seen Putin in 2019. Kneissl added that in September 2020 she had to leave Austria due to constant death threats and an effective work ban. After that, she settled in France and then moved to Lebanon.
